| August 30, 2007 Woodside, CAFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASERedesigned American Profiles Series Provides Easy Access to Federal Statistics about America's Asian, Black, and Hispanic PopulationsInformation Publications' American Profiles Series of statistical sourcebooks, an annual reference set published since 1991, has been redesigned for the 2007 edition. The series consists of three annual publications: Black Americans: A Statistical Sourcebook, Hispanic Americans: A Statistical Sourcebook, and (in its second year of publication) Asian Americans: A Statistical Sourcebook. All three books contain hard-to-find statistics on America's Asian, Black, and Hispanic populations, including Population & Demographics, Health & Vital Statistics, Education, Government & Elections, Crime & Corrections, Labor & Unemployment, Earnings & Income, and Poverty & Wealth.Starting with the 2007 editions, which are available now, the series has been redesigned to improve ease-of-use, legibility, and consistency across the three books. "From layout and presentation to the sources of the data, we have done everything we can to make the books as easy to use as possible," explains Publisher Eric Weiner. "Information about any one ethnic or cultural group only really provides understanding when compared across as wide a spectrum as possible. Ideally, all three of these books should be used together, and our new design reflects that belief." In keeping with this change in philosophy, the 2007 editions of the American Profiles will also be sold as a single unit at a discounted bundle price, in addition to being sold individually. More information is available on Information Publications' website. With so many hot-button cultural and political issues surrounding race and ethnicity, Weiner recognizes the need for clear and reliable information about the groups involved. "People feel passionately about all of these issues, so the least we can do is make sure everyone has convenient access to the relevant facts."Founded in 1980, Information Publications publishes two series of reference books. The State and Municipal Profiles Series includes the Almanac of the 50 States, as well as municipal and county profile books on California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. The American Profiles Series consists of statistical sourcebooks for Asian, Black, and Hispanic Americans. Weiner says that the books are designed to be useful many types of readers, such as students, reference librarians, attorneys, researchers, government officials, journalists, and real estate professionals. "By bringing such a diverse set of data together in one volume, we save our readers the time and expense of gathering the data themselves."---Contact: Eric Weiner, Publisher Information Publications, Inc. 2995 Woodside Rd, Suite 400-182 Woodside, CA 94062 Toll-free phone: 877-544-4636 http://www.informationpublications.com info@informationpublications.com |
